What is Truth?

And The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of Grace and Truth. John 1:14

 

Jesus saith unto him, I AM the way, the Truth, and the Life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me.  John 14:6

 

For the law was given by Moses, but Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ. John 1:17

 

But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth: for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. John 4:23-24

 

For The Word of the Lord is right; and ALL His works are done in truth. Psalm 33:4

 

Psalm 45:4

• And in Your Majesty ride on triumphantly for the cause of truth, humility, righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God); and let your right hand guide you to tremendous things. AMPC

• In Your Majesty ride out victoriously for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds! ESV

• In Your Majesty win the victory for what is true and right. Your power will do amazing things. NCV

• And in Your majesty ride prosperously because of truth, humility, righteousness; and your right hand shall teach you awesome things. NKJV

 

Withhold not thou Thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let Thy lovingkindness and Thy truth continually preserve me. Psalm 40:11

 

Behold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden parts Thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Psalm 51:6

 

Mercy and Truth are met together; Righteousness and Peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Psalm 85:10-11

 

Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name. Psalm 86:11

 

But Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. Psalm 86:15

 

Justice and judgment are the habitation of Thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before Thy face. Psalm 89:14

 

He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4

 

For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to ALL generations. Psalm 100:5

For His merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise ye The Lord. Psalm 117:2

 

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Thy law is the truth. Psalm 119:142

 

Thou art near, O Lord; and all Thy commandments are truth. Psalm 119:151

 

The Lord is nigh unto ALL them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:18

 

O Lord, Thou art my God; I will exalt Thee, I will praise Thy name; for Thou hast done wonderful things; Thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isaiah 25:1

 

“For I, The Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth and will make with them an everlasting covenant. Isaiah 61:8 NKJV

 

And thou shalt swear, The Lord lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in Him, and in Him shall they glory. Jeremiah 4:2

 

“Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, look around and consider, search through her squares. If you can find but one person who deals honestly and seeks the truth, I will forgive this city. Jeremiah 5:1 NIV

 

But he who practices truth [who does what is right] comes out into the Light; so that his works may be plainly shown to be what they are—wrought with God [divinely prompted, done with God’s help, in dependence upon Him]. John 3:21 AMPC

 

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the Fear of the Lord men depart from evil. Proverbs 16:6

 

Jeremiah 33:6

• Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. KJV

• Behold, [in the future restored Jerusalem] I will lay upon it health and healing, and I will cure them and will reveal to them the abundance of peace (prosperity, security, stability) and truth. AMPC

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou could reveal this secret. Daniel 2:47

 

Even the Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him: but ye know Him; for He dwells with you and shall be in you. John 14:17

 

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of Truth, which proceeds from the Father, He shall testify of Me: John 15:26

 

Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. John 16:7

 

Howbeit when He, The Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. John 16:13

 

Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy Word is truth. John 17:17 (sanctify: free from sin, purify, cleanse, unburden, redeem, bless, anoint, ordain, set apart, vindicate, justify, authorize, legitimize)

 

Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I AM a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. John 18:37

 

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of The Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:5-8

 

Pilate saith unto him (Jesus), What is Truth? John 18:38

 

1 Corinthians 2:4-14

4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of The Spirit and of Power:

5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the Power of God.

6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7 But we speak the Wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.

9 But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for The Spirit searches ALL things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

God gave them knowledge and skill in ALL learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in ALL visions and dreams. Daniel 1:17

 

Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before Thy God, thy words were heard, and I AM come for thy words. Daniel 10:12 KJV

 

Daniel 10:1-21 NCV

1 During Cyrus’ third year as king of Persia, Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, received a vision about a great war. It was a true message that Daniel understood. 2 At that time I, Daniel, had been very sad for three weeks. 3 I did not eat any fancy food or meat, or drink any wine, or use any perfumed oil for three weeks.

4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was standing beside the great Tigris River. 5 While standing there, I looked up and saw a man dressed in linen clothes with a belt of fine gold wrapped around his waist.  6 His body was like shiny yellow quartz. His face was bright like lightning, and his eyes were like fire. His arms and legs were shiny like polished bronze, and his voice sounded like the roar of a crowd.

7 I, Daniel, was the only person who saw the vision. The men with me did not see it, because they were so frightened that they ran away and hid. 8 So I was left alone, watching this great vision. I lost my strength, my face turned white like a dead person, and I was helpless.

9 Then I heard the man in the vision speaking. As I listened, I fell into a deep sleep with my face on the ground. 10 Then a hand touched me and set me on my hands and knees. I was so afraid that I was shaking.  11 The man in the vision said to me, “Daniel, God loves you very much. Think carefully about the Words I will speak to you, and stand up, because I have been sent to you.” When he said this, I stood up, but I was still shaking.

12 Then the man said to me, “Daniel, do not be afraid. Some time ago you decided to get understanding and to humble yourself before your God. Since that time God has listened to you, and I have come because of your prayers. 13 But the prince of Persia has been fighting against me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the most important Angels, came to help me, because I had been left there with the king of Persia.

14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people, because the vision is about a time in the future.” 15 While he was speaking to me, I bowed face down and could not speak. 16 Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, so I opened my mouth and started to speak. I said to the one standing in front of me, “Master, I am upset and afraid because of what I saw in the vision. I feel helpless.

17 Master, how can I, your servant, talk with you? My strength is gone, and it is hard for me to breathe.” 18 The one who looked like a man touched me again and gave me strength. 19 He said, “Daniel, don’t be afraid. God loves you very much. Peace be with you. Be strong now; be courageous.” When he spoke to me, I became stronger and said, “Master, speak, since you have given me strength.”

20 Then he said, “Daniel, do you know why I have come to you? Soon I must go back to fight against the prince of Persia. When I go, the prince of Greece will come,

21 but I must first tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. No one stands with me against these enemies except Michael, the Angel ruling over your people.

He answered, “Go your way, Daniel. The message is closed up and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many people will be made clean, pure, and spotless, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. Those wicked people will not understand these things, but the wise will understand them. Daniel 12:9 NCV
