STRENGTH

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

 

Behold, God is mighty, and despises not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom. Job 36:5

 

It is God that girded me with strength and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:32

For You have girded me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me and caused to bow down those who rose up against me. Psalm 18:39 AMPC

 

For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose against me. 2 Samuel 22:40 NKJV

 

Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His Holy Heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Psalm 20:6 NKJV

But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for Himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto Him. Psalm 4:3
 

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

 

The Lord will give strength unto His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11

 

But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: He is their strength in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39

Job 5:12

  • He disappoints the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. KJV

  • He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success. NIV

  • He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed. NLT

And they will deceive everyone his neighbor, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity. Jeremiah 9:5

 

When they oppressed you, you cried out to Me for help, and I rescued you. Judges 10:12 NLT

You went out to rescue Your chosen people, to save Your anointed ones. You crushed the heads of the wicked and stripped their bones from head to toe. Habakkuk 3:13 NLT

 

You drove out the pagan nations by Your power and gave all the land to our ancestors. You crushed their enemies and set our ancestors free. Psalm 44:2-3 NLT

 

Huddle together, you nations, and be terrified. Listen, all you distant lands. Prepare for battle, but you will be crushed! Yes, prepare for battle, but you will be crushed! Isaiah 8:9 NLT

 

"You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary, that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” Matthew 12:34 MSG

 

For the Lord has crushed your wicked power and broken your evil rule. Isaiah 14:5 NLT

 

But suddenly, your ruthless enemies will be crushed like the finest of dust. Your many attackers will be driven away like chaff before the wind. Suddenly, in an instant …. Isaiah 29:5 NLT

 

Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which Thou hast wrought for us. Psalm 68:28 (wrought: produced with a result, making an effort to achieve something)

 

The high and lofty One who lives in Eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the High and Holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts." Isaiah 57:15 NLT

 

And the Lord utters His voice before His army, for His Host is very great, and [they are] strong and powerful who execute [God’s] Word. For the Day of the Lord is great and very terrible, and who can endure it? Joel 2:11 AMPC

 

Salvation belongs unto the Lord: Thy blessing is upon Thy people. Selah Psalm 3:8

 

Bless the Lord, ye His Angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His Word. Psalm 103:20

 

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Thou art the God that doeth wonders: Thou hast declared Thy strength among the people. Psalm 77:14

 

2 Chronicles 16:9

  • For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him. AMPC

  • The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. NLT

Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over ALL. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to ALL. “Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your Glorious Name." 1 Chronicles 29:11-13 NKJV

 

In God is my salvation and my glory: the Rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Psalm 62:7

 

Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise Thy power. Psalm 21:13

 

And now, saith the Lord that formed me from the womb to be His servant ….  yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength. Isaiah 49:5

Zechariah 4:6

  • Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts. KJV

  • You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord All-Powerful. NCV

 

The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof. Psalm 50:1

 

For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, the terrible God, Who is not partial and takes no bribe. Deuteronomy 10:17 AMPC

 

Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Psalm 24:8

DIVINE FAVOR

For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield. Psalm 5:12 ESV

I entreated Thy favor with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to Thy Word. Psalm 119:58

 

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favor. Proverbs 14:8-9

 

Proverbs 13:15

  • Good understanding gives favor: but the way of transgressors is hard. KJV

  • Sound thinking makes for gracious living, but liars walk a rough road. MSG

  • Good sense wins favor, but the way of the treacherous is their ruin. ESV

  • Good judgment wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful leads to their destruction. NIV

  • A person with good sense is respected; a treacherous person is headed for destruction. NLT

  • People with good understanding will be well liked, but the lives of those who are not trustworthy are hard. NCV

 

For you are a holy and set-apart people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a special people to Himself out of all the peoples on the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 7:6 AMPC

“Still, if you set your heart on God and reach out to Him, if you scrub your hands of sin and refuse to entertain evil in your home, you’ll be able to face the world unashamed and keep a firm grip on life, guiltless and fearless. When the clouds are full of water, it rains. When the wind blows down a tree, it lies where it falls. Don’t sit there watching the wind. Do your own work. Don’t stare at the clouds. Get on with your life. Ecclesiastes 11:4 AMPC

 

Thou hast granted me life and favor, and Thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. Job 10:12

 

Psalm 30:7

  • By Your favor, O Lord, You have established me as a strong mountain; You hid Your face, and I was troubled. AMPC

Proverbs 11:27-28

  • He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come unto him. He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. KJV

  • If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you! Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring. NLT

 

Thou shalt arise and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time, is come. Psalm 102:13 (Zion: the place where Yahweh dwells) (Those who live for and serve Him)

 

A good man obtains favor of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will He condemn. Proverbs 12:2

 

Psalm 112:5

  • A good man deals graciously and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion. NKJV

  • It is well with the man who deals generously and lends, who conducts his affairs with justice. AMPC

  • Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. NLT

But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand forces him. So, I will raise My hand and strike the Egyptians, performing all kinds of miracles among them. Then at last he will let you go. And I will cause the Egyptians to look favorably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed. Exodus 3:19-21 NLT

 

The king’s favor is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame. Proverbs 14:35

 

I am in great distress. Let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercy is very great, but do not let me fall into the hand of man. 1 Chronicles 21:13 ESV

 

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to Your people, come to my aid when You save them …. Psalm 106:4 NIV

 

The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice for man comes from the Lord. An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked. Proverbs 29:25-27 NKJV

 

For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 NIV

 

But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love Me and obey My commands. Exodus 20:6 NLT

And he said, “O Lord, if it is true that I have found favor with you, then please travel with us. Yes, this is a stubborn and rebellious people, but please forgive our iniquity and our sins. Claim us as Your own special possession.” Exodus 34:9 NLT

 

Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations …. Deuteronomy 7:9

 

And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keeps covenant and mercy with Thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart …. 1 Kings 8:23

 

Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of Your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in Your wonderful reputation. They exult in Your righteousness. You are their glorious strength. It pleases You to make us strong. Yes, our protection comes from the Lord, and He, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our King. Psalm 89:15-18 NLT

 

O sing unto the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things: His right hand, and His holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. Psalm 98:1

 

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:4 NIV

 

Surely your Goodness and Unfailing Love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6 NLT

GRACE

But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful Grace of God. Acts 20:24 NLT

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm 64:11

 

God said to Moses: “All right. Just as you say; this also I will do, for I know you well and you are special to me. I know you by name.” Exodus 33:17 MSG

 

Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he dwells by you for safety’s sake. Do not strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm. Do not envy the oppressor and choose none of his ways; for the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright. The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the just. Surely, He scorns the scornful, but gives Grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the legacy of fools. Proverbs 3:29-35 NKJV

 

Proverbs 22:11

  • God loves the pure-hearted and well-spoken; good leaders also delight in their friendship. MSG

  • He who loves purity the pure in heart who is gracious in speech—because of the grace of His lips will he have the king for his friend. AMPC

 

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

 

For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. For while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:16-17 AMPC

 

The whole congregation of believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn’t even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, “That’s mine; you can’t have it.” They shared everything. The apostles gave powerful witness to the resurrection of the Master Jesus, and Grace was on all of them. Acts 4:33 MSG

 

We believe that we are all saved the same way, by the undeserved Grace of the Lord Jesus. Acts 15:11 NLT

 

Now I’m turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what He wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends. Acts 20:32 MSG

All that passing laws against sin did was produce more lawbreakers. But sin didn’t, and doesn’t, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call Grace. When it’s sin versus Grace, Grace wins hands down. All sin can do is threaten us with death, and that’s the end of it. Grace, because God is putting everything together again through the Messiah, invites us into life—a life that goes on and on and on, world without end. Romans 5:20 MSG

 

For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God, and all are justified freely by His Grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 NIV

AGING

Now also when I am old and grey headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have shown Thy strength unto this generation, and Thy power to everyone that is to come. Psalm 71:18

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Psalm 37:25

 

I’ve been carrying you on my back from the day you were born, and I’ll keep on carrying you when you’re old. I’ll be there, bearing you when you’re old and gray. I’ve done it and will keep on doing it, carrying you on My back, saving you. Isaiah 46:4 MSG

 

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails. Psalm 71:9

 

Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld His love from me! Psalm 66:20 NIV

 

They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing. Psalm 92:14 (fat: having the best of everything, rich, prosperous, wealthy, abundant, profitable)

 

Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26

 

Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding? To God belong Wisdom and Power; Counsel and Understanding are His. Job 12:12-13 NIV

Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment. Psalm 32:9

​

The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head. Proverbs 20:29

​

Your job is to speak out on the things that make for solid doctrine. Guide older men into lives of temperance, dignity, and wisdom, into healthy faith, love, and endurance. Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior. Titus 2:1-5 MSG

 

And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as He said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spoke this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five (85) years old (Caleb). As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. Now therefore give me this mountain .... if so, be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said. Joshua 14:10-12

 

Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. I have taught thee in the way of Wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it. Isaiah 25:8

 

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on in-corruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruptible, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. Death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, inasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:51-58

 

This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The Angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:6-7 NKJV

 

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Matthew 6:30

 

How much more surely shall the Blood of Christ, who by virtue of [His] eternal Spirit [His own preexistent divine personality] has offered Himself as an unblemished sacrifice to God, purify our consciences from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the [ever] living God? Hebrews 9:14 AMPC

 

You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help. Job 11:19 NLT

 

And though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase. For inquire, I pray you, of the former age and apply yourself to that which their fathers have searched out, for we are but of yesterday and know nothing, because our days upon earth are a shadow. Shall not [the forefathers] teach you and tell you and utter words out of their hearts (the deepest part of their nature)? Job 8:7-10 AMPC

 

I shall put My Spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord. Ezekiel 37:14

 

But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them? And how is anyone going to tell them unless someone is sent to do it? That’s why Scripture exclaims, a sight to take your breath away! Grand processions of people telling all the good things of God!  But not everybody is ready for this, ready to see and hear and act. Isaiah asked what we all ask at one time or another: “Does anyone care, God? Is anyone listening and believing a word of it?” The point is: before you trust, you have to listen. But unless Christ’s Word is preached, there’s nothing to listen to. Romans 10:17 MSG

 

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the Words of My mouth. Deuteronomy 32:1

 

The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the Lord hath made even both of them. Proverbs 20:12

 

He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination. Proverbs 28:9

 

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart …. Deuteronomy 6:6

But the Word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. Deuteronomy 30:14

 

And thine ears shall hear a Word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. Genesis 26:4

 

Thou shalt keep My covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. Genesis 17:9

 

The counsel of the Lord stands for ever, the thoughts of His heart to ALL generations. Psalm 33:11

 

I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 89:1 NKJV

 

He is [earnestly] mindful of His covenant and forever it is imprinted on His heart, the Word which He commanded and established to a thousand generations …. Psalm 105:8 AMPC

 

That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth. Deuteronomy 11:21

 

“Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” Hebrews 6:14 NKJV

 

The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children. Psalm 115:14

 

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

 

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies …. Genesis 22:17

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; to give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. A wise man will hear and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: to understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. The Fear (reverence) of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:2-7

When I determined to load up on wisdom and examine everything taking place on earth, I realized that if you keep your eyes open day and night without even blinking, you’ll still never figure out the meaning of what God is doing on this earth. Search as hard as you like, you’re not going to make sense of it. No matter how smart you are, you won’t get to the bottom of it. Ecclesiastes 8:17 MSG

 

A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised. Proverbs 12:8

He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace. Proverbs 11:12

 

Only by pride comes contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. Proverbs 13:10

The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endures forever. Psalm 111:10
